Jonah Javad & Cody Jaeger host This Week in 23Sports



This Week in 23Sports recaps the biggest games, players and sporting events from the previous week, and also previews upcoming Tiger games and other featured sporting events in Columbia. Jonah Javad and Cody Jaeger co-anchor the show bringing you highlights and recaps of all relevant happenings in Missouri athletics. Each week they'll be joined by different 23Sports analysts who will give further insight on the most significant players, games, touchdowns, spikes, goals, 3-pointers and home-runs that Mizzou sports have to offer.

This Week in 23Sports airs every day at 8:00am, 5:00pm, and 11:00pm on MUTV channel 23.


Men’s and Women’s Swimming Show-Me Showdown

The 21st ranked Men’s Swimming and Diving team got their season off to a great start by beating Drury, Missouri S&T, Washington University, and Lindenwood in the Show-Me Showdown. The Tigers tallied 393 points by winning 12 of the 16 events. This is the fourth year in a row the University of Missouri have started their season off by winning the showdown. The 200 Meter Free Relay Team of sophomore Jordan Hawley, redshirt sophomore Cameron Sellers, senior Jake Hoffmann, and senior Matt Dahlke, got the Tigers going early by taking first place with a time of 1:24.62. Jan Konarzewski, a freshman, earned his first collegiate victory by winning the 50 Meter Back with a time of 24.35. The drivers also had an excellent day by winning both of the possible events. The 18th ranked Women’s Swimming and Diving team followed the example set by the men. They won 14 of the 16 events and put up a total of 381 points to beat out Drury, Missouri S&T, Washington University, and Lindenwood. Juniors Molly Bollen and Colleen Gordon finished 1-2 in the 100 Meter Fly. Bollen finished 1st with a time of 57.49 and Gordon came in right after with a 57.89. For the Diving Team, senior Kendra Melnychuk won both events scoring 274.85 in the 1-meter and 287.70 in the 3-meter.
