Women’s Golf Secures 2nd Place at Wild Eggs Cup

Missouri women’s golf brought home second place and had four top-20 finishers at the Wild Eggs Cardinal Cup in Louisville, Ky. on Tuesday. The Tigers finished just one stroke behind the hosting University of Louisville with a score of 291-308-298—897.

Junior Taylor Gohn competed individually and tied for fourth place. Finishing the first day of play at a sizzling one-under-par, Gohn cooled off and shot a four-over-par in the third round.

Katherine Hepler recorded three consecutive birdies in a row to start the third round, and added a fourth on the sixth hole. Despite suffering a double bogey on the front nine and two bogeys on the back nine, Hepler secured a 10th place individual finish.

In the third round, Alina Rogers shot two-over-par. She carded 74-76-74 in her three rounds to round out at eight-over-par, handing her 14th place. Laura Kraft tied for 18th. Totaling 225, she finished one stroke behind Rogers. Kraft totaled three birdies on the first three holes in her final round.

Freshman Michelle Butler tied for 27th place with a score of 228 while Ariana Savich finished just one stroke behind her to secure the 31st overall spot. Both closed their respective final rounds at five-over-par.

The Tigers come home to host the Johnie Imes Invitational next. The event tees off on Oct. 1 at the Club at Old Hawthorne.
