Students spread tiger spirit with Decorate the District

On Oct. 24, student organizations and resident halls took to downtown Columbia with spirit and window paint.

Starting at 10 a.m. and lasting throughout the day Columbia’s store front windows were designed with images depicting varying cities from around the United States.

All designs were preplanned and had to be pre-approved. The only requirements of the organizations were that their designs must include the Homecoming theme, The Black and Gold Standard.

Window assignments were drawn at a prior meeting. Businesses with larger windows were among the top picks.

The annual tradition not only brings different organizations together but the entire university together through a common goal of spreading tiger pride.
