This past weekend the LGBTQ Resource Center here at MU hosted it’s 3rd annual Black and Gold Drag Show.

Performers in the show danced and sang to contemporary songs. The main features of the show were the divas and gentlemen as they showed off their talents and expressed who they are.  The divas also prided themselves on their costumes and makeup.

Audience and performers expressed that this it was a safe place and everyone has the freedom to be completely themselves for the night.  The audience members was even encouraged to tip the performers and cheer to show their support.

James Loewenstein, a returning audience member of the show for the past three years, said that there are more and more people that come out for the show each year. He continued to say that it is great to see an even bigger turnout each year because it symbolizes the growing support for the LGBTQ community.

Other audience members said that they would definitely be back next year for another great show and to show their continuous support for the LGBTQ community here at MU.
