Despite tallying the highest team score since 2010, the No.19 Missouri Tigers gymnastics team fell Friday night to the No. 2 Florida Gators by a score of 197.750-196.650.

This is only the second time in 37 years that the team was able to total a 196.625 or higher twice in a season. The ladies also set or tied 12 career-high bests in the meet.

One individual who had an outstanding night was freshman Morgan Porter. She scored an all-around 39.425—a 9.950 on the floor, along with a 9.825 on vault, bars and beam.

As a team, the Tigers scored a 48.975 on vault. Along with Porter, sophomore Kennedi Harris and freshman Xarria Lewis also recorded a 9.825 to lead the team.

Later on the Tigers scored a 49.075 on bars. Freshman Brooke Kelly led the way for Missouri with a score of 9.875 and not far behind her was Porter and freshman Madeleine Huber who both scored a 9.825.

The Tigers also scored an impressive 49.225 on beam, led by freshman Britney Ward. Ward notched a team-best 9.875. Tallying up behind her were sophomores Tia Allbritten and Becca Schugel who scored 9.850s.

The Tigers concluded the night with a 49.375 score on the floor. This attack was led with three 9.900 or higher scores by Porter, Harris and freshman Allison Bower.

The Tigers will now look to get back on track as the team heads over to Auburn, Alabama to take on No. 8 Auburn next Friday at 7 p.m.
