The Mizzou Volleyball team took home yet another victory Sunday, beating the Arkansas Razorbacks 3-1 in Fayetteville. The Tigers nearly swept the Razorbacks, with Arkansas only winning one measly set. Mizzou won set one 25-18, set two 25-20, and set four 25-18, dropping only the third set by a score of 25-14.

The Tigers dominated on nearly all fronts, including points, kills, blocks, assists, and digs. The only thing that Arkansas bested Missouri on was aces.

It was an impressive day for sophomore Tyanna Omazic, who lead the team in both blocks (with six) and aces (with three). Some other impressive performances were from sophomore Leketor Member-Meneh, who lead the team in kills (with 16) and redshirt freshman Andrew Fuentes, who lead the team in assists and was one of the leaders in digs.

It was an impressive game that put a lot of confidence in Tigers fans. Only time will tell if the faith will rewarded. But if the Tigers’ schedule is any indication, they will have a shot. Throughout the rest of their season, they only have to play three ranked opponents. They have already defeated a ranked opponent in the No. 25 Alabama Crimson Tide. If they keep up their dominant play, it is likely that the Tigers will be ranked within the coming weeks.

Their record now improves to 12-2, with a 2-0 record against SEC opponents, which leaves the Tigers at No. 2 in the SEC just behind the currently 11-1 South Carolina Gamecocks. Mizzou, while sitting high, could easily be propelled to No. 1 in the conference in the coming weeks.

The Tigers next hit the court Friday, September 28th when they visit the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville.
