Thursday, Feb. 20-

The Missouri women’s basketball team snagged an 81-76 victory over Florida to improve to 16-10 on the season. Missouri had just come off of a huge win at Auburn and looked to keep its hopes alive for a possible first-round bye in the SEC tournament. The Lady Tigers did just that with a close victory.

Florida took a 10-4 lead early in the game, but that was the largest lead the Gators would have. Lead changes were numerous, as both teams could not make a run to distance themselves from their opponent. Nevertheless, Florida took a 34-30 halftime lead.

The second half was definitely highly contested throughout and the outcome was always in doubt.  Florida did not fall behind Missouri until 8:37 was left in the game. Bri Kulas made a clutch three-pointer to put the Tigers up 62-59. The Gators would only tie the game once before Mizzou sealed the game.

Kulas, Jordan Frericks, Morgan Eye, and Sierra Michaelis all put up double-digit point efforts for the Tigers. Michealis also added 11 rebounds to her career-high point total.

The Lady Tigers return home and will look to continue their winning ways in their next game against the No. 10 Tennessee Volunteers on Sunday.

Tipoff is at 1 p.m.
