Missouri Men and Women’s Cross Country teams travelled to College Station, Texas, this Saturday to participate in the Texas A&M Invitational, placing third and second, respectively, in the 16-team races.

Coming off second and third place finishes at the Forest Park Cross Country Festival, junior Jordan Cook and sophomore Marc Dubrick led the way for the Tigers, finishing 14th and 15th amongst the 154 runners.

Sophomores Evan Schulte and Sheldon Keence also scored, placing 23rd and 27th. Rounding out the Tigers’ top five was junior Ian McGinn, who placed 32nd, giving the team 106 points—the best finish of any SEC team.

Sophomore Karissa Schweizer finished sixth overall and first amongst the lady Tigers, and is primed for a big season after finishing first at the Forest Park meet. The remaining scorers were sophomore Jamie Kempfer in 13th, freshmen Kate Smith and Kelli Jackson in 20th and 23rd, and junior Teylar Adelsberger in 30th. The lady Tigers were narrowly defeated by the Texas Longhorns 87-92, but still finished first among SEC competition.

The Tigers’ next meet will be Friday, Oct. 2, in South Bend, Indiana, for the Notre Dame Invitational.
