In honor of three African-American leaders who shaped Mizzou’s history, the university held a dedication ceremony for Lucile Bluford, George C. Brooks and Gus T. Ridgel on October 19th, 2018 outside of the Brooks and Bluford residence halls.
The event lasted from 2 to 4 p.m. and included tours of the residence halls for visitors and speeches from the President of the Legion of Black Collegians, President of Residential Life, original Brooks Scholar LeAnn Stroupe and Chancellor Alexander Cartwright.
In attendance was the family of George C. Brooks and members of the MU administration. The event concluded with light refreshments in the Gus T. Ridgel Atrium.
