Everything Emma: a comparison of Hollywood’s Emmas

By Chloe Castleberrry, The Prowl

I’m sure we are all well acquainted with our favorite movie actresses Emma Stone, Emma Roberts and Emma Watson.  However, what do we really know about them and who currently holds the title of “Best Emma?”

Let’s first start with Emma Stone.  One of her shining moments was when she starred opposite the lovely Ryan Gosling in “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” but every movie star had to start somewhere.

Emily Jean Stone was born on Nov. 6, 1988, in Scottsdale, Ariz.  She began her career on the short-lived FOX action drama “Drive,” but truly grabbed attention in the comedy “Superbad” with Michael Cera and Jonah Hill.

After that, it became easy for her to get lead roles in movie such as “The House Bunny,” “The Help,” and “Easy A” for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress. These then helped her lead her latest role as Gwen Stacy in “The Amazing Spiderman.”

Filming for “The Amazing Spiderman 2” has already started which is great for Emma because she gets to spend more time with her adorable (and British) boyfriend, Andrew Garfield.  She also gets to return to her natural blonde hair color, even though she pulls off the redhead look beautifully.  The list goes on for reasons we love Emma Stone, but now it’s time to switch gears and learn a little bit more about our other Emma’s.

Emma Roberts is basically actor royalty because of her familial relationship with our favorite pretty woman, Julia Roberts, who is her aunt.  Her father, Eric Roberts, is also an actor who began his career in the movie “King of the Gypsies” for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor.

Emma, however, got her start in a much different way.  She played Addie Singer in the Nickelodeon series “Unfabulous.” After that she pursued a singing career but still continued to act.  She starred in the movie “Aquamarine” and “Nancy Drew,” both of which she starred as one of the leads.

In 2010 she got to share the big screen with her aunt Julia in the romantic comedy “Valentines Day.”  That same year she also starred in the movie “It’s Kind of a Funny Story” and this year she got act next to Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis in the comedy “We’re the Millers.”

And lucky for you, if you’re just dying to see more of Emma Roberts you can find her on FX’s “American Horror Story: Coven” which started in October.

Last, but certainly not least, we have our favorite witch, Emma Watson.  She is most well known for her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series.

Some things you may not know about Emma Watson is that she was born in Paris, France, and is not only a superb actress but also a model.  In 2009 she began modeling for the Burberry winter/fall campaign.

Although, she has received numerous awards for her work in Harry Potter, this year she was voted sexiest female movie star, which I have a feeling is helping her move away from her days as sassy know-it-all Hermione.

In 2012 she starred in Stephen Chbosky’s film adaption of “Perks of Being a Wallflower,” which was a huge hit.  And just recently was cast in the movie “Noah” with Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, and Logan Lerman, who she stared with in “Perks of Being a Wallflower.”

Originally, her part was supposed to be played by Dakota Fanning, but I’m sure the public won’t mind getting the opportunity to see more of Emma Watson.

Learning more about these wonderful woman and actresses has been great, but the title of best Emma is still undecided.  I guess you’ll just have to make the decision on your own.  Hope this helped and best of luck in your journey to find the “Best Emma.”
