The upcoming fall season has everyone excited about multiple things: comfy flannels, pumpkin spice lattes and of course, the return of our favorite television shows. Here’s an overview of my five most anticipated shows coming this fall.

This article contains spoilers.

1. “Mr. Robot”

Returning for its third season, “Mr. Robot” is sure to bring even more intensity than viewers ever thought possible. In season two, it was revealed that Elliot had been in jail for the entire first half of the season, and ended with Elliot being shot in an attempt to regain control of his mind. With these twists, audiences were never certain if Elliot was fabricating the truth or showing us reality. In season three, audiences are expected to get some answers but face even more questions. Elliot will continue to struggle with his identity as Mr. Robot, while also dealing with the outcome of Tyrell’s return. Amidst this confusion, Angela has now proven to be more involved in the chaos than we initially thought. As the premiere approaches, one thing is for certain: viewers should expect the unexpected.

“Mr. Robot” season three premieres October 11 on USA.

2. “Stranger Things”

This year, Halloween comes early as our favorite group of monster-hunting kids is back. With Will rescued from the Upside Down in the conclusion of the first season, all seems well in Hawkins, Indiana, but not for long. In the second season of “Stranger Things”, Mike, Lucas, Dustin and Will must face their biggest threat yet: the so-called “Shadow Monster”, as nicknamed by the cast themselves. Will Eleven come back to Hawkins to help her friends? Is Will going to be able to recover from the effects of being trapped in the Upside Down for so long? These questions and many more are sure to be answered upon its premiere.

“Stranger Things” season two premieres October 27 on Netflix.

3. “American Horror Story: Cult”

The universe of this horror phenomenon resets yet again to give fans another season of terror. “American Horror Story: Cult” features the life of a family, including Sarah Paulson’s Ally, in turmoil following the 2017 presidential election. Ally becomes increasingly paranoid as she begins to be terrorized by clowns, her worst fear. This leads many fans to speculate whether Twisty the Clown will be returning to the show. Twisty has not been seen since “American Horror Story: Freak Show” so it would be an exciting addition to the new season. With fan favorite Evan Peters once again front and center to the mayhem, along with Billie Lourd from “Scream Queens” joining the cast, loyal fans are hoping season seven lives up to the hype.

“American Horror Story: Cult” premieres September 5 on FX.

4. “The Walking Dead”

“The Walking Dead”, one of the most anticipated shows of the fall, will return to AMC with its eighth season. Having set a plan of action in motion, Rick and his group, with the help of the Kingdom and the Scavengers, will face Negan and the people of the Hilltop. All out war will occur, and as always, fans should expect some bloodshed. As last season proved with the deaths of beloved characters like Glenn, Abraham and Sasha, any character could be in danger. “The Walking Dead” continues to shock its viewers every season, and it shows no sign of stopping. As the group prepares to take down Negan once and for all, fans can be certain that no one is safe.

“The Walking Dead” season eight premieres October 22 on AMC.

5. “Fear The Walking Dead”

Of course, the return of “The Walking Dead” also brings the continuation of its spin-off “Fear The Walking Dead”. The first half of season three ended with some shocking events and revelations, leaving the viewers eager for more. This midseason premiere is sure to feature some tension as Madison and her family attempt to gain control of Broke Jaw Ranch amidst chaos. The ongoing fight between the Nation and the people of the ranch is sure to continue. Will Madison become the sole-leader of the community? Or will she be forced to flee with her family in search for a better chance at survival?

“Fear The Walking Dead” premieres September 10 on AMC.
