You wake up in the morning and go straight for your closet. You check the weather, and decide what you’re going to wear for the day. For some, it’s leggings or norts and a big t-shirt, for others it’s your favorite pair of Birks paired with jeans and a comfy top. For these Mizzou students, it’s a process; a way for them to express their mood and self without having to even say anything. Check out a few of my favorite looks off the street on October 13, 2015.

For Sophia Conforti, a J-School student, her go-to style is "what I feel comfortable in." Her look is very flowy, and it matches her hair. She gives off the go-with-the-flow vibes.

She paired her floral fringe kimono and black t-shirt dress with a black felt cloche hat that is perfect for a beautiful fall day.

For shoes, she went with a pair of white Superga’s. I normally don’t see a lot of platform tennis shoes, but they complete the outfit. Sophia makes sure her individuality shows through her clothing choices. “Individuality makes me feel like myself.” And that’s what fashion is all about, expressing yourself in whatever way you see fit.

Shawn McCalmon, a marketing major, based his outfit of the day off the fall color palette. The colors “bounce off of each other well” and they have the “same color gradient.” I personally enjoy this outfit because of his patterned shirt.Fashion6

Leather boots have become a fall favorite on campus, and I am in full support. They go with nearly everything, especially olive colored pants, according to Shawn.

The pops of red on this tribal print top, pictured right, brings just the right amount of color to the outfit. It reminds me of all the colorful leaves you see around campus. And the frocket (front pocket) is a nice darker rust-colored contrast to the main rust color of the shirt.

Caitlyn Busch, another J-School student, also chose her outfit based off the fall color palette.

Fashion8Caitlyn’s gold heart necklace, pictured  left, is a simple and delicate addition to her outfit. The horizontal striped sweater is needed to bring the piece together with her bright blue hair and burnt orange top.Fashion10

Caitlyn “picked up hats from studying abroad in London.” These hats are extremely popular right now and you can find them nearly everywhere, such as stores like Forever21 or H&M, pictured right.

He describes his style as “Oxford hipster.” He never wears jeans, so he paired this casual look with corduroy pants and a classic Henley top.

Fashion12Left, we have another pair of leather boots, but he put a twist on them by tying the laces around the boots. And the unusual, yet fashionable, green laces draw attention to the gold buttons near the top of the boot.

And with his Ray Ban glasses and maroon backwards cap, Ryan gives off the hipster vibes he is going for.

Dress ready for the runway because you never know when E23 will be watching.
