We have all been there, popcorn bucket half empty and a desperate need for a bathroom break. Everyone just wants the screen to light back up and show us the ending we wanted. Going to the movies is a fun experience but what happens when the movie predicted to be so great is a dud? Skip the bummer this summer and check out these awesome films that are sure to leave you satisfied.5 movies

1. “Neighbors 2” Directed by Nicholas Stoller

We are reintroduced to happy couple Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Rose Byrne) as their lives take another fun adventure! When trying to sell their home, a sorority moves in next door.  Just as expected these ladies will not go down without a fight. The couple is forced to join forces with a third party to protect the selling of the home.

This film not only will have audience members rolling on the floor laughing but will also show a real sense of family.

2. “X-Men: Apocalypse” Directed by Bryan Singer

In this installment of the X-Men series, we are introduced to the God of all mutants (Oscar Isaac). He has returned from the dead and has big plans for the world.  With the world at the brink of destruction, the X-Men are once again forced to step in.

Let’s face it; everyone loves a good Marvel story. Though, some few may say, “I am not into that comic book stuff,” this movie can interest everyone, even the comic book haters.

3. “Finding Dory” Directed by Andrew Stanton and Angus MacLane

Disclaimer: If you have not seen Finding Nemo, stop everything and watch first. Dory, voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, is a blue fish that suffers from short-term memory loss about every 10 seconds. The one thing that she can remember is going missing from her family as a child. With help from her friends, Dory sets off on a journey to be reunited her parents.

A personal favorite on the list, this movie makes the viewer realize so much about life, love and the beauty in growing up.

4. “Central Intelligence” Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber

Bullied as a teen for being overweight, Bob (Dwayne Johnson) shows up for his high school reunion looking like a new person. While there, he sees a former classmate, Calvin (Kevin Hart). Bob, who is now a lethal CIA agent, needs Calvin’s accounting skills to help him save the security of the United States. Together, the former classmates encounter gunshots, double-crossing and some extreme miscommunication all trying to prevent worldwide chaos.

This movie is extremely comical and reminds the audience of the glory days.

5. “Independence Day: Resurgence” Directed by Roland Emmerich

Another Disclaimer: If you have not seen the first Independence Day, stop everything and watch! 20 years after an alien invasion, the world is just beginning to return to reality. As the Fourth of July approaches, a massive UFO approaches. Satellite engineer David (Jeff Goldblum), a team of scientists and the United States military must come together to save the world. Let’s be honest, no summary could be near as captivating as this trailer.

If this trailer can put the viewer on edge, imagine how nerve wrecking the film will be.
