Valentine’s Day with your bae is always something special, from a dozen roses to huge life-size teddy bears to chocolate covered strawberries, but what about the music? In my opinion, having a playlist for Valentine’s Day is the most important part of the whole day. It’s perfect for taking a bubble bath with rose petals, the perfect background noise for dinner and setting the mood for later on if you know what I mean.

First up, we have “Dream A Little Dream of Me” by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. This song is classic. The jazzy undertones and romantic flare going back and forth between their voices makes it the perfect song to slow dance to after a romantic candle-lit dinner with your love.

Second, is Beyonce’s or John Mayer’s- whichever you prefer- “XO.” This enchanting melody will have you staring at your bae with heart emoji eyes and a lot of love in your heart. I also recommend checking out Bey’s music video because it is amazing.

I definitely “Can’t Help Falling In Love” with this next song by the king himself, Elvis Presley. His soft, yet deep voice sends you through a wave of emotions ranging from peaceful to blissful to eventually “falling in love.” This song is so beautiful and great to listen to while cuddling in bed.

Now that we’ve had a bit of slow jams, it’s time to turn up the heat with “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” by Whitney Houston. I’m not sure about you, but I love to dance with my bae in the car to all of these cheesy love songs and they’re great to dance to at any parties this weekend. I can promise you that on Valentine’s Day, this song will be on repeat all morning until I get cramps from dancing so much.

Fifth on the list is a classic early 2000s hit, “Let Me Love You” by Mario. This song was number one on the charts for nine weeks and it’s not hard to know why. This song should be described as the ultimate “pouring your heart out” R&B ballad that will have you singing along while you stare at a picture of your crush that you found in the depths of Instagram.

This Valentine’s Day, make sure you let your bae know how you feel through a special love jams playlist, or you could also just eat some chicken nuggets and chocolate on your own while you watch your current bae, Netflix. Whichever you choose, make the most out of it and think about all the half-priced candy you’ll be eating the next day.
