The Missouri women’s basketball team fell to the University of Florida by a score of 75-67 on Sunday. The Tigers fought hard all afternoon but were unable to get over the hump in the second half.

Missouri trailed by just seven at halftime, but Florida took an insurmountable lead in the third quarter. The lead grew as large as sixteen in quarter three. Mizzou began a run in the final quarter but wasn’t able to cut the deficit below eight points.

Aijah Blackwell led the way with 20 points on 6-14 shooting. Blackwell is now averaging 14 points per game on the year in her freshman season.

Lavender Briggs and Brylee Bartram led the way for Florida with 18 points each.

The biggest difference in the game came down low. Florida out rebounded Missouri 40-30 and scored 12 second chance points while Missouri only scored 1. Zada Williams dominated the glass for Florida with 12 boards to go along with 15 points on six of nine shooting. All of Williams points were from inside the three-point line.

Florida improves to 14-11 on the year and 5-7 in conference. It sits tied for eighth in the SEC standings and have now won two in a row. Florida will travel to Tuscaloosa to take on Alabama on Thursday.

Missouri falls to 6-19 on the season and 3-9 in the SEC in what can be seen as a disappointing year. It will take on a Vanderbilt team that’s lost 7 of its last 8 on Thursday in Nashville.
