George Clooney Gets Married

Sorry ladies, the silver fox is officially off the market!

The notorious bachelor and commitment-phobe actor, George Clooney, wed British human rights lawyer, Amal Alamuddin, on September 27 followed by a weekend of celebration. Complete with a picturesque Italian setting and a plethora of A-list celebrities in attendance, the ceremony was one for the record books! Mr. and Mrs. Clooney said “I do” at the enchanting Aman Canal Grande hotel in Venice, Italy. The groom wore an extravagant Giorgio Armani suit, while Alamuddin stunned in Oscar de la Renta gown. The happy couple was surrounded by close friends, which included Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Bono, Bill Murray, Cindy Crawford, and many others. In addition to close friends, the event was a family affair! People Magazine reports that Amal’s six-year-old nephews served as ring bearers, while both the groom’s father and bride’s mother delivered touching speeches during the ceremony. The former mayor of Rome, Walter Veltroni was also in attendance. The lavish and traditional ceremony was followed by an equally extravagant reception where around 100 guests were served lemon and ricotta agnolottini with champagne and black truffles, according to People. Mr. and Mrs. Clooney sliced into a delicious 4-teir chocolate cake, decorated with gold accents, matching the stunning reception hall. Also matching the gold décor of the Aman Canal Grande hotel were the pristine white napkins embroidered with the couple’s monogram in gold at each place setting. Loved ones looked on as the newlyweds shared their first dance to Cole Porter’s “Why Shouldn’t I?”

Following the weekend of tasty Italian dishes, scenic views, and lots of love, the newlyweds jetted off for their honeymoon. People reports that instead of a traditional honeymoon destination, they’ll simply be spending two weeks in seclusion in their newly purchased English home. As for booties and strollers in the their future? The couple is considering expanding the family, but are currently just enjoying married life.
