Get ready to Eat More Chicken!

The students and residents of Columbia, MO will no longer have to drive all the way to Jefferson City in order to obtain some of the Chick-fil-A’s famous chicken. According to reports, Chick-fil-A plans to demolish three Romano’s Macaroni Grills in the Midwest including the one located in Columbia. The Columbian Missourian reports that Chick-fil-A filed a permit with the city’s Building and Site Development Division on Sept. 12 to replace the Romano’s Macaroni Grill currently located at 315 North Stadium Boulevard with a 4,267 square-foot restaurant with a double drive-thru.

For many, the news of Chick-fil-A finally making its way to Columbia is a long-awaited relief.

“I’m very excited to have waffle fries back because going to college makes you realize what a treat food like waffle fries are,” says MU freshman Hannah Schmuck.

The Atlanta-based company has over 1,800 restaurants in 40 different states, and its arrival in the city of Columbia may have been overdue for some. For others, the arrival of a Chick fil-A may provide a reminder of home for students from outside of Missouri.

MU freshman Danielle Katz explains, “It was the kind of place where my friends and I would go very often, and we’ve shared a lot of laughs there. It’s great that I can do that here too.”

Although it has not been confirmed when exactly the Chick fil-A will arrive in Columbia, it should be an exciting addition to the food scene of Columbia.
