Golf continues consistent play

The Missouri Tigers golf team continued its strong play on Wednesday, finishing third, and earning its fifth top-three finish of the season.

The 54-hole event was played on the par 70, 6,765-yard River Course at Kingsmill Resort.

The annual tournament is hosted by William & Mary and features a field of 30 teams from all over the country.

After round one of the tournament, Missouri saw itself near the top the pack, in the fourth place. The Tigers shot six over par in the first round.

Radford and Loyola Maryland finished in first place while Boston College sat in second right in front of Mizzou.

Round 2 teed of on Monday morning, as the tournament had a rare Sunday, Monday, Tuesday three day format. But the Tigers didn’t see much success on Monday.

Mizzou finished the day at 17 over, their worst day of the tournament. Ryan Zech though would climb the leaderboards as he moved to five over par in the event.

On Tuesday Redshirt sophomore Jacob Fair had a career-best 67 to finish tied for seventh at 3-over-par 213. Fair recorded the second top ten finish of his career.

Zech finished tied for 26th while Linus Lilliedahl ended up at 36th. Mizzou would ended the day in third place behind Radford and Loyola Maryland.

The teams went to a playoff with Radford pulling out the victory. The Tigers return to action March 29-31 at the Hootie at Bulls Bay in Awendaw, S.C.
