The Missouri golf team could not handle the Georgia heat at Great Waters Golf Course, notching a 3-day total of 880—good for 16-over-par for the tournament—and an unfortunate 11th place finish. Alabama would take the tournament victory with a weekend total of 12-under.

The Tigers were able to finish the weekend strong, putting up their best score of the tournament in the final day, but in the end, consistency was key as Missouri’s second day 307(+19) was ultimately their undoing.

None of the top three finishing teams compiled a day total over 290.

Mizzou faced a tough field, including six teams holding places among the top 40 in the country. The top individual, Georgia’s Lee McCoy, shot 9-under for the tournament holding onto just a one stroke lead on his fellow Bulldog Sepp Straka.

McCoy and Straka are ranked 9th and 73rd, respectively. On the other end, Missouri’s top performance came from Hayden Buckley who performed better than the second day, ending at 1-over and good enough for 15th place. Buckley holds the Tigers best 18-hole average with a 72.5.

Although Mizzou was not able to put together a strong performance down South, it will have another chance at Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, South Carolina. The three-day tournament will take place starting Sunday, April 3 and end on Tuesday, April 5.
