Mizzou Gymnastics’ Morgan Porter was selected as the SEC Freshman of the year, as voted on by the coaches around the league. The Missouri native is the first gymnast in program history to win the award.

Porter competed in the all-around in 10 of the 12 meets for the Tigers, contributing 46 of 48 possible routines. In the national spotlight, she ranks 20th with an all-around Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 39.355. During the season, she also won a team-best 13 titles. Her 39.675 in the all-around against Arkansas tied for second in Mizzou history and best among SEC freshmen this season.

Porter alone holds three out of the top four freshman all-around scores in program history, and she had a team high 35 scores of 9.8 or higher on the season. She also led with seven recorded scores 9.9 or above.

Porter and the Tigers next challenge lies ahead at the NCAA Regional competition on Saturday, April 2 in Minneapolis.
