The Missouri Women’s golf team closed its season with a twelfth-place finish in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico at the Battle at the Beach tournament.

Missouri posted a score of 904 over the course of the three-day tournament, which is equivalent to 40 over par. 14th ranked Ole Miss won the tournament with a score of 857.

Ole Miss was one of four top-20 teams to compete in the tournament. 11th ranked Vanderbilt, 18th ranked LSU, and 20th ranked Virginia Tech also competed.

Missouri Head Coach Stephanie Priesmeyer said she was encouraged as her team played a lot of good golf in the tournament, but she was disappointed that the scores did not turn out better.
“It seemed like there were a few holes that just had our number, collectively, so being stronger mentally is an important takeaway from this tournament. We’ll work on that over the off season and we’ll be better there,” Priesmeyer said.
Sophia Yoemans scored the best for Missouri over the weekend as she shot a six-over 222 for the tournament. Yoemans credits her putting for her ability to score well and finish strong. She scored a three-under 69 in the final round of the tournament which ties her personal best for the Fall season. Yoemans finished tied for 31st overall individually.
Noelle Beijer finished one stroke behind Yoemans and tied for 36th individually.
“I didn’t have my ‘A’ game today, but I was happy with the end result overall,” Beijer said.

Missouri’s next scheduled event is the Westbrook Invitational in Westbrook, Arizona. The invitational will take place on February 23 and February 24.
