Wednesday, Dec. 4-

The Mizzou women’s basketball team remained undefeated at home after stomping Oral Roberts 86-64. The Lady Tigers are 6-0 at Mizzou Arena and 8-1 overall for the season.

Mizzou’s 86 point victory is the most points scored to this date. The team also dished 24 assists, making its offense even more balanced.

The two teams came out with back-and-forth play. With 6:36 remaining in the first half Mizzou lead by a single possession, 21-18. After a series of turnovers by Oral Roberts, giving way to a 14-0 run by Mizzou, the Tigers held a 32-18 lead over the Golden Eagles at half. The Tiger’s 43 points in the first half is a season high.

The second half saw improved play by both teams. Mizzou went on an 8-0 run right off the bench and shot 50 percent from the field. This was enough to hold Oral Roberts, shooting at 42.4 percent from the field, at a comfortable range.

Four players found themselves in double digits in the win. Morgan Eye was the top scorer with 17 points, Bri Kulas put up 13 points, Maddie Stock scored her season-high of 15 points, and Morgan Stock made five 3-pointers to contribute another 15 points. This was the first game that both Stock girls scored in double figures.

Mizzou’s bench came alive this game and was a major contributor to the win as 44 of the 86 points scored came from players off the bench.

The Lady Tigers look ahead to Sunday, Dec. 8 for a seventh win at the Mizzou Arena against the Bradley Gargoyles.

The game begins at 2 pm.
