Life in Color Gives Concert Goers an Experience

Sunday, April 28-

Despite the cold, rainy and muddy mess, people of all ages danced their hearts out at Saturday night’s concert at the Midway Expo Center in Columbia, Missouri.

Life in Color, formerly called Dayglow, is known as the world’s largest paint party. All attendees came dressed in white and left covered in paint from head to toe.

This year’s headliner was Krewella and David Solano’s Life in Color Radio also played. A countdown clock counted down each paint blast of color, each different, including hot pink, lime green and neon blue. Paint bottles were also available for purchase. It got wild, especially as the night went on. People got a thrill out of crowd surfing, while others got to experience the action from the shoulders of another dancer.

Those who didn’t want to be involved in the paint mess could watch from the hill. I happened to get caught in the middle of the action and unfortunately the rough housing was a little too much for me to handle. The pushing and shoving was not my cup of tea. By the time the event was over, I was covered in not only paint, but also a ton of mud. Luckily, the paint and mud came off easily. I came out with a few bruises and scratches, but I can definitely say it truly was a once in a lifetime experience.

A few tips of advice are to bring sunglasses to keep paint from getting in your eyes.  More importantly, I suggest dressing in clothes and shoes that you won’t care if they get ruined, or lost, because they most likely will. Flip-flops were not a good choice on my part, as I lost them in the mud halfway through the event.

Would I have changed a thing? No, because for me it was all about making Life in Color 2013, an unforgettable experience.
