Many Tigers, One Roar

This year marked the 101st Homecoming celebration at the University of Missouri, which is the birthplace of Homecoming.  Several events led up to the game against Kentucky: decoration contests between residence halls;  the annual blood drive that collected over 5100 units this year;  a food drive, which collected 146,000 lbs. of food;  and then there was the parade, the usual tailgating and great school spirit that Mizzou is so proud of.

On Saturday, the football game went about as well as anyone could’ve hoped.  By the half, the Tigers had a commanding lead.  After the band’s performance of “Call Me Maybe”, the final ten contestants for the Homecoming 2012 Court were brought onto the field.  For queen, the final five were: Morgan Adrian, sponsored by Kappa Kappa Gamma;  Helena Kooi, sponsored by Kappa Delta;  Kelsey Lammy, sponsored by Kappa Delta;  Jessica Loos, sponsored by the MU Women’s Center;  and Megan Maxwell, sponsored by Delta Delta Delta.  The King condiment finalists were: Xavier Billinglsley, sponsored by Delta Chi;  Kaylan Holloway, sponsored by the iGuide Leadership Team;  Alan Keller, sponsored by the Alumni Association Student Board;  Caleb Phillips, sponsored by the Alternative Spring Break;  and Colten Ross, sponsored by Hatch Residence Hall.  The votes were counted and the winners were announced: Morgan Adrian and Xavier Billingsley won their respective crowns for the 2012 Homecoming Royalty.  Zach Rarolin and Kam Phillips, Mizzou’s King and Queen of last year returned to Faurot Field to crown their successors.
