After dropping their last match to Ole Miss, the 25th ranked Missouri Tigers traveled to Auburn and won by a final score of 3-1 (25-12, 25-14, 21-25, 27-25). While junior outside hitter Kylie Deberg once again led the team in kills, three other Missouri Tigers recorded 10 or more kills. A total team effort from Missouri was needed to take down Auburn to stay undefeated in SEC Road play.

In set one, Missouri got off to a slow start and was tied at 10-10. From there, they went on a 15-2 run to close out the set 25-12.
Much of the same came in set two as Auburn took an early 5-2 lead. Following suit from the first set, the Tigers of Missouri won the next five points in a row and never looked back. They dominated the latter half of the set and took a two set lead on a 25-14 second set win.

In the third set, the script was flipped. Missouri and Auburn were tied at 13 when Auburn made their run. They took five of the next six points and propelled themselves to a 25-21 third set win.

Despite Missouri having problems closing out matches, the Tigers held strong in this one. The fourth set went back and forth between the dueling Tigers. Missouri showed their mental toughness as this one went to the wire. After a 25-25 tie, the fourth set went to extra points, but didn’t last much longer. Missouri slammed the door with kills from Dariana Hollingsworth-Santana and Kylie Deberg to win by a final of 27-25.

The Tigers next play at home this Sunday, October 20 at 2 p.m. against conference foe, Tennessee.
