It was a rough day for both the men’s and women’s swim teams in College Station, Texas on Saturday as the Texas A&M Aggies celebrated their senior day with two victories. The #15 ranked Tiger men fell to the #9 Aggies 169-131, while the #10 ranked Mizzou women fell 169-118 to the #1 ranked Aggies. The loss dropped the men’s team to 4-2 in dual meets on the year, while the women’s team fell to 2-4.

The men dropped both relay events, but tied the Aggies with seven individual winners. Sophomore Micah Slaton and Giovanny Lima were the top bright spots for Mizzou, each winning two events. Slaton won both the 100 and 200 yard butterfly events while Lima won the 200 and 500 yard freestyle events.

The Missouri women had a rougher day, losing all 14 races. Mizzou’s two event victories came in the diving category, where Kendra Kieser won both the one meter and three meter dive.

The men’s and women’s swim teams get a break before heading off to their next meet, January 20th at Missouri State. Both teams then return to Columbia to face Drury, compete in the Tiger Invite, and then go on to the SEC Championships, back in College Station.
