After winning four straight games to end the month of October, the Missouri women’s volleyball team has now dropped two in a row. Their most recent loss comes at the hands of Texas A&M, who have now won five consecutive games.

Despite being ranked at No. 24, the Tigers were unable to stop the Aggies dominant runs late in sets.

Some of the key performers from Sunday’s contest include Kylie Deberg, Tyanna Omazic, and Kayla Caffey. Deberg had 14 kills, 2 aces, and 8 digs. Omazic had 8 kills on .438 hitting, 2 aces, and 4 digs. Caffey had 8 kills on .467 hitting, and 6 total blocks.

The game included many highlights in a back and forth contest. The Tigers’ have been on fire with their serve game, which once again continued on Sunday as the team finished with nine-plus aces in theirr third game over their last four. Besides Omazic and Deberg, redshirt sophomore Andre Fuentes and junior Leketor Member-Meneh also had multiple aces.

Mizzou had the chance to take the opening set leading 19-14 late, but the Aggies went on a 11-2 run to close out the victory. This would happen over the course of the rest of the match, leaving Texas A&M with the overall win in four sets.

Mizzou will finish up their three-match road trip the following weekend at Alabama and then at Georgia. With a 14-6 record this season, Mizzou’s volleyball team is in a prime spot to end their losing streak and prepare to dominate down the stretch.
