Missouri swimming and diving dominates

The Missouri men’s and women’s Swimming and Diving teams clawed out victories over the weekend, sweeping Kentucky, Northwestern, and Southern Illinois. The victories in the quad-meet, taking place at Kentucky, improved the men’s squad to 4-0 in dual action and the women to 5-0.

The women were spearheaded by sophomore Katherine Ross, setting Missouri’s season best time in the 200 IM with a time of 2:01.64. She continued her dominance by claiming the 100 Breast with a time of 1:01.15.

Matthew Margitier, who tallied a 20.00 leadoff split that helped secure a 200 Free Relay, led the men. Senior Sam Tierney claimed the 100 Breast with a 54.52, joined by teammates Igor Koslovskij and Jordy Groters.

The men advanced to 1-0 in the SEC while the women enhanced their SEC record to 2-0. Missouri seized impressive wins all around, with the men dispatching the their opponents easily, Kentucky (228.00-120.00), Northwestern (221.00-127.00) and Southern Illinois (253.00-95.00). The women followed suit, Kentucky (199.00-154.00), Northwestern (222.00, 131.00) and Illinois (261.00-92.00).

Both teams dive back into the pool for the Mizzou invite Nov. 20-22.
