The Missouri baseball team dropped the season finale against No. 6 Florida in 10 innings. Florida’s Ryan Larson recorded a two-out walk-off single to secure the Gators’ 6-5 victory.

The Tigers fell to 19-24 and 6-15 in conference play while the Gators improved to 30-15 and an SEC-best 15-6. Peter Fairbanks took the loss for Mizzou while Bobby Poyner earned the victory for the Gators.

Missouri’s standout players were Eric Anderson and Kendall Keaton. Anderson went 2-for-5 with two RBIs while Keaton recorded his third three-hit game of the year. Missouri totaled 11 hits on the night and controlled a 5-3 lead midway through the contest.

John Miles took the mound for the Tigers, letting up a 1-0 lead early in the first inning after Taylor Gushue blasted an RBI double into right field. The Gators added another run with a Braden Mattson groundout, but Missouri was quick to respond. The Tigers went after Florida starter Danny Young in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI single by Jake Ring. Anderson then gave Mizzou the lead with a two-run double.

The Gators would tie up the game in the second with an unearned run that resulted from an error by Keaton. Mizzou responded with back-to-back doubles from Dillon Everett and Dylan Kelly and re-gained the lead heading into the third inning.

Brett Peel extended Missouri’s lead to 5-3 after beating out an RBI scoring infield bunt. The Gators replied with five hits and two runs that tied the game up at 5-5 and send the contest into extra innings. In the bottom of the tenth, Larson clinched the victory for Florida with a walk-off single.
