After losing the first three games of the Frisco College Baseball Classic, Missouri ended the weekend with an 8-4 loss vs the Arizona Wildcats. The Tigers went 0-4 for the tournament and are currently 3-9 for the season.

The excitement began in the second inning for both teams. Branden Boissiere and Jacob Berry on the Wildcats came out swinging with back-to-back home runs. Arizona took an early 3-0, before Mizzou responded in the bottom of the second, scoring three runs themselves.

Missouri’s Andrew Keefer and Ross Lovich were able to get on base by hitting singles. With two men on, Luke Mann skyrocketed a homer into right field and tied the ball game 3-3.

Both the Wildcats and the Tigers went scoreless for four more innings, up until Arizona captured another run in the sixth, followed by a four-spot in the seventh.

Mizzou’s last surge came in the ninth inning thanks to an RBI from Torin Montgomery, but after leaving two men stranded on base, the Tigers failed to make a comeback. The Arizona Wildcats won 8-4 and clinched their ninth win in a row.

The Wildcats are 10-2 overall and will host Wichita State on Thursday. Meanwhile, Missouri will play the St. Louis Billikens away on Wednesday.
