Mizzou Basketball Cruises in Second Exhibition Game 92-79

The Missouri basketball defeated the Central Missouri Mules 92-79 in the second exhibition match of the season. The Tigers are now 2-0 in exhibition play on the year.

The Mules took control of the scoreboard early, ending the first half on top 45-43. Central Missouri shot 47.4 percent from the field. The Tigers managed to hit on 13 of their 29 shots in the first 20 minutes.

The second half belonged to Missouri, who outscored the Mules 49-34. Earnest Ross led the Tigers in scoring with 25 points, followed closely by Jordan Clarkson’s 24. Clarkson managed to hit 50 percent of his shots from the field, including a three pointer.

Free throws played a huge role in the game with the advantage belonging to the Tigers. Mizzou hit 33 of its 45 free throw attempts, including 9-of-10 coming from Clarkson and 11-of-12 coming from junior Jabari Brown. The Mules made only six shots from the line during their 13 visits.

The Tigers begin regular-season play on Friday, Nov. 8 in Mizzou Arena against Southeastern Louisiana. Mizzou is projected to finish fifth in the SEC this season.
