Wednesday, Dec. 3-

The Missouri Tigers women’s basketball team took down the Loyola Ramblers 56-45 to improve to 5-1 on the season. Sophomore Jordan Frericks led the way for the Tigers with her second double-double of the season, totaling 14 points and 15 rebounds. The victory gave coach Robin Pingeton her 400th career win as a head coach.

With senior Morgan Eye going 0-6 from the field and 0-5 from three point range, the Tigers recieved a great contribution from Maddie Stock. Stock scored 12 points and went 4-7 from beyond the arc. Junior Juanita Robinson had a great game, scoring 10 points marking her second double-digit game as a Tiger.

It was an ugly showing in the first half from both sides. The Ramblers cut the lead back to two to make it 15-13. The Ramblers went on a 7-5 run to tie the game at 20. The Tigers would close the half with a 5-0 run to go into the half with a slim 25-20 lead.

In the second half the Tigers would start to find their game as a 21-8 run that spanned 8:36 would all but seal the deal for them. Turnovers would prove costly for Loyola as the Tigers would force 22 turnovers and score 26 points off those turnovers. Loyola forced 13 turnovers but would only score one point off those turnovers. Both teams shot 31% from the field.

A huge part for the Tigers was with starters Eye, Lindsey Cunningham, and Kayla McDowell struggling, they needed big contributions from their bench. The bench delivered in large part to Stock’s 12 points, with the entire bench outscoring the Ramblers 25-6.

The Tigers head to Peoria, IL this Saturday Dec. 6th for a game against Bradley at 2 pm CT.
