Mizzou Defeats Fighting Sioux

Saturday, Dec. 10 –

Mizzou stormed past the North Dakota Fighting Sioux at Mizzou Arena this past Saturday.

Quickly starting the game with a 21-0 lead, the Missouri’s aggressiveness was too strong to be stopped. In just the first two minutes of the game, the Tigers gained their first seven points from Christine Flores and BreAnna Brock.

Morgan Eye contributed to the quick lead as well, even hitting a three pointer at the 15:48 mark, capping off the score favoring Missouri 18-0 at the first media timeout.

Shortly after the break, Eye made another three pointer, just before North Dakota’s first basket. But she didn’t stop there—freshman Morgan Eye tied a college game career personal record of 16 points throughout the contest. She made her 16th point by making two free throws at the 16-second mark.

Flores sunk several shots in tandem to Eye’s points. With the score 27-6, Flores made a layup that put her in double-digit scoring for the game. Brock followed that layup with a jump shot of her own, giving Mizzou a 31-8 lead.
Sydney Crafton hit two free throws at the 5:30 mark, becoming the forth Tiger to add to the team’s total. After the Tigers forced another turnover, Brock reached double digit scoring for the game when she netted two free throws. Hitting their largest halftime lead of the season, Mizzou went into the locker room with a 40-25 lead.

Not stopping at that, Missouri came out with a fast start after halftime, scoring on their second possession as Brock sunk both free throws after being fouled on a layup attempt.

Two UND free throws shortened the Tiger lead to 12—the shortest throughout the entire game—with 7:44 remaining on the clock. Flores wouldn’t let that stop her acceleration. She then made her fourth three-pointer of the game. After the Fighting Sioux made another free throw, Flores retaliated with four straight points to give Missouri a 20-point lead.
Missouri then extended their lead either further, holding North Dakota off at 69-52 for the final score.
