It was business as usual on Sunday afternoon for the Missouri Tigers, easily defeating Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (SIUE) 35-3, finishing it’s 2021 dual season with a perfect, unblemished record of 10-0.

This is the fourth time in Mizzou wrestling history that the Tigers have gone undefeated during dual season, with three of them coming from current head coach Brian Smith. Mizzou has now won 27 straight MAC duals, dating back to the 2017-2018 season.

Mizzou has held recent dominance over the Cougars, winning 11 consecutive dual matches, going all the way back to 2010-2011.

SIUE only won two matches against the formidable Tigers, with Ryan Yarnell claiming a 5-4 decision over Colton Hawks, competing in the 184 weight class.

Mizzou had many easy matches throughout the dual including a Connor Brown destruction of Austin Macisas. Winning by 8-0 major decision.

There were also five extra matches played. The Tigers took four of them, with weight class 184 being the only SIUE was victorious in. Seems to be a strength for the Cougars.

Mizzou concludes its 2021 regular season next on Feb. 14 with the Cowboy Challenge in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The Tigers will be joined by host No. 5 Oklahoma State, West Virginia and Central Oklahoma.

Should be nice for the Tigers to see some familiar Big 12 foes in the Cowboys and the Mountaineers.
