Tuesday, March 22—

The Mizzou softball team came out firing on all cylinders Monday in the first half of its doubleheader, forcing a 15-4 run-rule domination of UTEP.

The Tigers would have a 10-run first inning thanks to two three-RBI home runs hit by sophomore Amanda Sanchez and senior Emily Crane.

The power trip would not stop in the first inning, however, as senior shortstop Sami Fagan joined the home run party with a two-RBI homer of her own over the right field wall.

However, the fireworks for the Missouri offense were highlighted by senior Taylor Gadbois, who hit a grand slam to right field in the second inning, which would make up all of her four runs batted in. The Maryville, Missouri native finished 2-for-3 on the day and rounded the base paths to score two additional runs of her own.

The Tigers look to keep the momentum going heading into the second game of the day.
