Mizzou Men’s Basketball loses a hard-fought matchup against No. 8 Arkansas in the SEC Championship Quarterfinals, 70-64. Although it was hard-fought, it was sloppy at times too, as both teams combined for 41 turnovers, however, Arkansas capitalized more on turnovers, as they got 26 points off turnovers compared to Mizzou’s 20 points.

Senior Jeremiah Tillmon, although fouling out with five minutes left in the game, became the 47th Mizzou 1,000-point club member with nine points on the night, bringing his total to 1,005 points in his career. Junior Xavier Pinson led the Tigers in scoring with 14 points, and along with that, he got two boards and a steal. He did end up leaving the game early with around two minutes left in the game due to a tough foul in the paint. Sophomore Kobe Brown, the player of the game in the last game, got six points, 11 boards, three steals, two blocks and an assist. Finally, Senior Dru Smith reached double figures for a team-high 20th time this season with 11 points.

More on the Tigers as a team, they had the lead by 10 at some point in the first half, only to see it go down to one by the end of the half. Arkansas got up to a 10 point lead in the second half, however, Mizzou cut the lead to three with less than two minutes remaining with a 7-0 run. They would not get within one possession again as the Razorbacks kept finding ways to put the ball in the basket.

As for the rest of the postseason tournaments, the Tigers will wait to see what their seeding is in the NCAA March Madness Tournament. The Selection Show is tomorrow, March 14 at 5:00 p.m. on CBS.
