Mizzou Football Preview vs. Mo State

Victoria Zeyen, 23 Sports
Although the SEC Football Season starts next week, the Mizzou Tigers will be kicking off their 2017/2018 season Saturday, September 2nd at 11 am on Faurot Field. The University of Missouri will be battling against Missouri State for the right to say they run the state.
Mizzou last faced Missouri State in a game 94 years ago. On October 6th, 1923, the Tigers took down the Bears 10-0. The opportunity is here once again for The University of Missouri and second year coach, Barry Odom, who is looking to better his record from a season ago. He has continued to build up the Tigers on defense as well as offense. The defense will be suspect, much like a season ago. Drew Lock, a Veteran quarterback, is someone to keep the most tabs on in Saturday’s match up. Lock finished last season leading the SEC in passing yards, and his skill will continue to remain a key component for Mizzou’s Offense and overall game success. Coach Odom will also have a lead role in the game, as always. With a year under his belt, there are many high hopes for the Tigers to have a comeback season.
The Mizzou Tigers have begun preparations to better themselves since last season. The Spring game was also a preview of what’s to come, and it all begins tomorrow. If you couldn’t make it in April, I hope you have your ticket for the season opener. The team, the university, and the city of Columbia are all waiting anxiously for the season to be underway. Starting Saturday at 11, many of their offseason questions will begin to be answered.
