The No. 13 Missouri gymnastics team recorded the sixth-highest team score in program history as the team received a 196.750 at No. 3 Florida on Friday night in Gainesville, Florida. Despite losing to the Gators (197.750), the Tigers’ score also stands as the second-best road score in school history and the highest team total since 2010.

Sophomore Britney Ward scored a career-high 9.950 to tie the third-best beam score in team history.
Missouri started the meet fairly well, tallying a 49.175 on bars, the second-best score on the event this season. Juniors Shauna Miller and Becca Schugel both received team-high 9.875s, which were season-bests for both Tigers. Sophomore Brooke Kelly received a season-best score with a 9.850, while freshman Aspen Tucker received a 9.800 and sophomore Madeleine Huber went 9.775.

On vault in the second rotation, Mizzou earned a 49.225 as a team. This is also the second-highest event score for the Tigers. Junior Kennedi Harris and Miller received scores of 9.850, which was a season-high for Miller, while Huber went 9.825 and senior Angie Kern and Tucker earned 9.800s.

In the third rotation the Tigers went 49.175. Harris earned a 9.925 in the anchor spot, tying her season’s best. Schugel also shined with a career-best score of 9.900.

Missouri wrapped up the night on beam with a 49.175, which tied for the team’s highest score on the apparatus this year. Ward, in Mizzou’s last routine of the meet, earned her career-best 9.950 for her fourth tally of 9.900 or higher on the season. Kelly and sophomore Allison Bower both received 9.850s, a career-best for Bower.

The Tigers will be back in action as they return home to the Hearnes Center on Friday, March 3, when the team competes against No. 14 Auburn at 7 p.m.
