COLUMBIA- First posted on Oct. 15, 2020, the Mizzou Alumni Association hosted their first virtual spirit rally.

Todd McCubbin, Alumni Association Executive Director, opens the seven-minute long video. “Since the very first homecoming…tigers have come together to celebrate the spirit that unites us,” McCubbin says. “This year is no different.”

This tradition, dating back to Mizzou’s first homecoming game in 1911, usually involves Truman the Tiger, the Mizzou Spirit Squads and Marching Mizzou all gathered at Traditions Plaza. Though due to COVID-19 restrictions, this is another Homecoming event that has transitioned to an online format.

In order to keep the Mizzou spirit alive, the Alumni Association invited a few of its members to participate in a recorded Zoom call. Mizzou themed backgrounds arrive on-screen as Marching Mizzou performs in the background.

The band and spirit squads remain socially distanced as a selection of fight songs is played around the Mizzou M at Faurot Field.

Mizzou fans can attend this spirit rally anytime between Oct. 15 through Oct. 31 by visiting the link below.
