Mizzou Market on Hitt Street Celebrates Grand Reopening

Campus Dining hosted the Grand Reopening of Mizzou Market – Hitt Street in the newly renovated Pershing Hall Tuesday, February 5th.

The celebration from 11 a.m. to 3p.m. offered free food and chances to win a Nintendo Wii, iPads, MU Bookstore gift cards, and free subway for a year for five students.

The new-and-improved Pershing Hall includes a Subway sandwich shop, computer labs, and study and lounge space on the main floor. The Residential Hall Association (RHA), Residential Academic Programs (RAP) and an MU Police substation make the bottom floor their home, alongside classrooms and meeting spaces.

Luke Gorham, the Leadership and Education Resources Advisor for RAP, says the renovations allow more students to enjoy the available resources. “Before the renovation, we only had stairs. We got the chance to put an elevator in. Now the upper and lower levels are accessible for everyone.”

Anurag Chandran, a freshman student, enjoys the atmosphere. “I love it. It’s got this ambiance, it’s very welcoming, and you can do all your work here any time you want.”

The market is open 24/7 during the academic school year.
