The Missouri Tigers finished the regular season with a record of 15-8 and 8-8 in conference play. The Tigers begin their postseason as the No. 7 seed in the SEC Tournament taking on the No. 10 seeded Georgia Bulldogs in Nashville. It was the second meeting between the two teams, Georgia won the first matchup at home.

Mizzou and Georgia got off to slow starts in the game only scoring a combined 34 points 15 minutes into the game. The final five minutes would be a different story as both teams’ offenses found some traction. With five seconds to go in the half, Xavier Pinson stole the ball from Sahvir Wheeler and sprinted to the other side of the court and sunk a 3-pointer at the buzzer to put Mizzou behind by 1 point at the half. Back and forth the teams went, until midway through the second half Mizzou went on a 14-2 run putting the Tigers ahead by 10 points. The Bulldogs came roaring back only trailing by two with less than a minute to go, then thanks to some fouls and a missed three-point opportunity for the Bulldogs at the end of the game the Tigers won 73-70 to advance to the second round of the SEC tournament.

The Tigers did not have the best shooting day going 43.3% from the field and 35% from behind the arc. Four Tigers scored over 10 points in the game. Xavier Pinson leading the way with 17, Kobe Brown and Dru Smith with 16 and Jeremiah Tilmon with 10. The Tigers forced 14 turnovers, but they also gave up 10 turnovers. The biggest surprise was the three-point shooting of Kobe Brown going 2-3 from deep. He was successful from three-point range thanks to Jeremiah Tilmon attracting two Bulldog defenders leaving him wide open.

The Tigers play the Arkansas Razorbacks tonight at 7:00 p.m. The Razorbacks are hot coming off an 8-game winning streak, which one of the wins was upsetting the Tigers 86-81 in overtime back in early February. The Tigers look to avenge their loss and continue to move up in the SEC Tournament.
