The number three ranked Missouri Tigers wrestling team continued their dominance this season, taking down no. 17 Central Michigan 29-6 to clinch the Mid-American Conference regular season dual championship. This is Mizzou’s third MAC dual title in four years, and in six dual matches this year, the Tigers outscored their opponents 217-31. Dating back to 2014, Mizzou has won 34 of their last 35 MAC dual meets, outscoring their opponents by over 730 points.

After getting off to a slow start in the 125-pound weight class, Mizzou came back with eight straight victories, taking a commanding 29-3 lead in the dual. In the 157-pound bout, senior Joey Lavallee improved to 22-1 on the season, while recording his fifth fall on the year. Daniel Lewis and Canten Marriott also had notable performances against Central Michigan. Lewis won by a score of 9-1, which is his fourth major decision of the season and with that win Lewis improved to 23-0 on the season. Finally, Canten Marriott the former MAC champion and number 14 wrestler in the nation, Jordan Ellingwood. That improves Marriott to 19-4 on the season, with nine of those wins coming by bonus points.

The Tigers next meet will be against another top 25 opponent, in no. 5 Oklahoma State on January 27th.
