Mizzou’s women’s soccer team picked up their third win in a row as they defeated the Vikings of Portland State 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Audrey Walton Stadium. The Tigers struck first with a Sarah Luebbert goal 19:57 in. Less than a minute before halftime, however, the Vikings tied it up with a Mya Lopez goal. In the second half, Luebbert again could not be stopped as the junior forward scored the Tigers’ game-winning goal at the 59:54 mark. Luebbert’s goals were her first two of the season.

The Tigers dominated the stats even more than the score would indicate. Mizzou kept the ball within scoring range for the majority of the game, tallying 20 shots, while Portland State had only four shots on goal. Missouri also had all eight of the game’s corner kicks.

The win brought the Tigers (4-4-1) back to .500 overall. They will return back on the pitch at Georgia on September 20 in hopes to achieve a big SEC win. The Bulldogs are 4-3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference on the year. Mizzou is 1-0 in conference so far this season, as the Tigers knocked off Kentucky 1-0 on September 13th.
