Wednesday was a tough game day for the Missouri’s softball team as they lost 8-1 to the Bradley Braves at the Mizzou Softball Stadium. This loss drops the Tigers to a record of 13-12 with an SEC record of 2-4. The overcast weather was a fairly predictive omen of how the game would go for Missouri, as Bradley would go on to dominate the contest.

The game actually started off well for the Tigers, with a bomb shot by shortstop Jazmyn Rollin giving Missouri a 1-0 lead in the first inning. That proved to be the Tigers only real shining moment in the game, as after that the Braves took off. Bradley came right back out in the second as their DP Kealia Wysocki hit a two run home run, and the Braves never looked back. Jillian Navarro hit a three run home run in the fourth, the Braves tacked on two more runs in the fifth, and they added another run in the sixth. Mizzou starting pitcher Cassie Gasper fell to 4-3 on the season with the loss, while Bradley pitcher Grace French improved her 2019 record to 4-2.

The next series for the Tigers is Friday, Saturday, Sunday at number No. 13 Kentucky. This is a huge series for Missouri on the road against a ranked conference opponent. Winning these games would be massive for the Tigers, especially when it comes time for the Women’s College World Series and the seeding that goes with that. All three games of this series will be played on SEC ESPN + Network.
