The No. 19 Mizzou Softball team put up a fight against the Jayhawks, but they could not recover after Kansas took the lead in the 5th inning, falling by a score of 4-3.

In the first inning, the Tigers put up a 1-2-3 inning, but in the bottom of that inning, the Tigers had runners on first and second, but could not get them to the plate.

In the second, Kansas got a solo home run from Ashlyn Anderson to claim the lead in that inning. In the bottom of the third, Hatti Moore had some power of her own, hitting a two-run home run that was her 14th home run of the season, bringing the score to 2-1 Tigers.

Nobody would score in the fourth, but in the fifth, Kansas had the bases loaded, and a pair of singles scored three in the inning with one out in the inning, making the score 4-2 Jayhawks. Jordan Weber then entered the game and retired the next two batters faced to end that half of the inning. In the bottom of that inning, Missouri got one run back on an RBI single from Casidy Chaumont that scored Brooke Wilmes. However, they left that inning with the bases loaded, and that was all of the scoring for the rest of the game.

Some key players for the Tigers that kept them in it were Hatti Moore, Jordan Weber, and Abby George. Along with the two-run home run by Moore, she also threw out a runner stealing second in the same inning. Weber tried to keep the Tigers in the game with three strikeouts and no runs allowed in 2.2 innings. George had her ninth multi-hit game of the season, going two for three in her at-bats at the plate.

The Tigers will now have a three-game series against Mississippi State at home starting Friday.
