Mizzou Softball proved to Western Illinois why they are ranked No. 20 in the nation. The Mizzou Tigers kept the Bulldogs scoreless over a doubleheader, one game was won by run rule, 10-zip, and the other game was won by a score of 6-0.

In the first game, the scoring action came from a lot of players in the lineup. Catcher Hatti Moore hit a two-run homer to start the scoring in the first. The center fielder Brooke Wilmes had six RBIs which happened on a double to right to score two and a grand slam to end the game. The other RBIs go to right fielder Abby George on a single and first baseman Riley Frizell, who did not start the game, but came in after Kendal Cook pinch ran for Emma Raabe. On the pitching side, Laurin Krings got the win and was the only pitcher to pitch during the game, only allowing two hits and two walks and got 10 strikeouts.

In the second game that started 42 minutes after the first game concluded, Moore once again showed her power and homered twice in this one, one in the first that was a two-run shot to right, and another solo to right. The other scoring came from First Baseman Emma Raabe who cleared the bases on a double to right. And once again on the pitching side, Megan Schumacher pitched the complete game and got the win only giving up eight hits, two walks, no runs and got six strikeouts.

The Tigers will stay home this weekend to play Auburn in a three-game series, with the first one starting at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Friday and Sunday’s game will be on the SEC Network+ and Saturday’s game can be seen on the SEC Network channel.
