This weekend capped off the end of the men’s and women’s swimming and diving SEC championships. Mizzou placed fifth overall in both the men’s and women’s competitions. For the women, this was their highest finish since joining the SEC. The men tied their best finish in the conference.

Florida came out on top with 1,275 points winning the men’s title, while Texas A&M claimed the title for the women with 1,166.5 points.

Several notable performances by Mizzou athletes marked the SEC championships. Katharine Ross won an SEC title in the 100 breast. Mizzou also boosted five top two finishes and 15 top five finishes. Junior Michael Schadwick and Junior Fabian Schwingenschlogl both contributed runner-up finishes on Saturday. Senior Abby Duncan also won third place in the 100 breast.

Junior Carter Griffin also had a top five finish on Saturday, placing fifth in the men’s 200 back. Mizzou finished off the meet with two fifth place finishes in the men’s and women’s 400 free relays.
