Mizzou Swimming Dominates Drury

Saturday, Feb. 4 –

If anyone was wondering why the Missouri men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were ranked in the NCAA Division I Top 25 on Saturday, they surely understood after the Tigers’ meet at Drury University.

The Tigers came into Breech Pool and dominated in both competitions, with the women cruising to a 161-69 victory and the men splashing their way to a 154-83 beat down. Drury, a NCAA Division II program, simply was overwhelmed by the Tiger tsunami that was hitting.

That was made evident by the Missouri women winning all 11 swimming events, and then adding the two diving competitions as a cherry on top. The women’s team came in ranked No. 18 in the nation.

The Missouri men did not win all of their events, but they still managed to take nine of the 11 swimming events, while still sweeping the diving competitions. They maintained their ranking of No. 25 in the men’s DI national poll.

Next up for the Tiger swim teams is the Grand Prix, which is hosted back in Columbia next Friday, Feb. 10-12. The Grand Prix events will last all day on all three of those days.
