In the final meet of the regular season, Missouri’s No. 15 men’s swim team and No. 13 women’s swim team hosted the Tiger Invite on Friday and Saturday at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. Sixteen different Tigers won while four took home two victories.

On Friday, junior Kira Zubar picked up two victories in the 500m and 1650m freestyle. She recorded a time of 4:45.41 in the former and 16:24.63 in the latter. Junior Sharli Brady took second in the 500m freestyle and recorded a career best 4:46.19.

Junior Hannah Stevens also picked up two wins in the 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle, recording a time of 52.22 in both races. Sophomore Iliana Jones won first in both the 50m freestyle and 100m breaststroke with times of 23.27 and 1:04.16 respectively. Freshman Nick Alexander won the 200m IM and 200m backstroke with times of 1:47.59 and 1:44.43.

In a notable victory for the Tigers, freshman Giovanny Lima won the 500m freestyle with a time of 4:26.21, which ranks 10th best in program history.

Finishing on Saturday, the Tigers were able to sweep the 100m butterfly, 200m breaststroke and 200m butterfly races. Junior Erin Metzger-Seymour and freshman Daniel Hein both won the 100m butterfly with times of 53.54 and 47.66, respectively. Freshman Azra Avdic and senior Martin Wallace both finished first in the 200m butterfly with times of 1:58.04 and 1:45.58, respectively. Seniors Fabian Schwingenschlogl and Ellie Suek both picked up victories in the 200m breaststroke with times of 1:58.67 and 2:16.42, respectively.

Missouri’s next meet will be at the 2017 SEC Championships, Feb. 14-18, in Knoxville, Tennessee.
