The Missouri Tiger tennis team made it four victories in a row on Friday, and pushed themselves 9-1 on the season. It was a closely contested match, with the visiting Minnesota Golden Gophers not wanting to give an inch, but the Tigers were able to prevail 4-3. With the win, they are now 5-0 at home on the season.

The only thing more impressive than their performance at home this year has been their play in doubles. In 10 games they have not yet failed to win the doubles point. Serena Nash was back for this match and paired up with senior Clare Raley once again, but they were unable to take the first match. Fortunately the Tigers, they are a very deep team. The pairings of Amina Ismail and Mart Olivera as well as Mackenzy Middlebrooks and Ellie Wight both earned hard fought victories, winning 7-5 and 6-5 respectively.

After Mizzou seemingly stole the momentum in doubles, the Golden Gophers stole it right back by winning three of the first four singles matches. The Tigers weren’t ready to give up yet though, down 3-2 in the scoring, Amina Ismail and Clare Raley won back to back matches to put a stamp on the victory. Middlebrooks also won her singles match, her 13th win in a row.

The team will stay here in Columbia this weekend as Memphis visits for a game on Sunday. The Tigers will again be looking to remain perfect at home.
